Insomnea is a dynamic vocalist, songwriter, and educator, born and raised in Washington, D.C. With a passion for music that began at an early age, Insomnea attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance in 2015. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Brooklyn, NY to fully immerse herself in her music career.

Blending a variety of genres—including neo-soul, hip hop, jazz, and electronic music—Insomnea’s sound is a reflection of her diverse musical influences and unique artistry. Her music aims to convey powerful messages of love, social and political issues, and positivity. Through her songs, Insomnea strives to foster connections and create an emotional bond with her listeners, aspiring to reach as many people as possible with her heartfelt and thought-provoking music.

In addition to her music career, Insomnea is deeply committed to education.  In June 2024 she received a Master's degree of Arts in Teaching. Her work continues to inspire, empower, and resonate with audiences across various platforms.
